Marie

This doll has been inspired by the images of Marie Sklodowska-Curie - it's a modern version of a female researcher. Intelligent, sharp and thoughtful, but at the same time beautiful and feminine.  The objects that this lady is holding are an Eppendorf micropipette and a tube - the classic attributes of someone working in a biomedical research laboratory. This is also a kind of a tribute to my dreams and aspirations in that area of life - some of them realized, and some of them not... Almost half of my life has been centred around biomedical research, so this doll is to some extent a self-portrait (slimmer and better hair, but nevertheless).
